Life on the road is absolutely amazing. For those lucky enough to have sponsors backing them you are given the royal treatment: Money for nothin' and chicks for free. Despite this extravagant lifestyle, there's nothing like home. There's NOTHING like the company of family and friends. You take those two elements and add on an amazing day of skateboarding and the level of euphoria you experience is unexplainable. The above video is proof of this. There's no doubt about it, falling f*cking sucks! And then..... there's falls like this. Falls that are so frighteningly bad that you wish you never saw it. LIFE ON TOUR....

Life on tour is fucking crazy: You hit the road with a list of crazy things you're about to do and then it always turns out 10 times crazier then you could have imagined. The above video is proof of that fact. If you listen closely the dialogue explains the whole trip from start to finish.

MELLOW MONDAY #5: ELLIE GOULDING

There are few voices that I come across nowadays that are truly impressive. Despite that fact, Ellie Gouliding is one of those pop singers that will go down in history as one of the best singers of all time. She HAS to be the most remixed voice in pop music. I continually find gems of hers remixed and remastered amazingly.... almost everyday. The most surprising part is I DO NOT get bored of it because her voice is so amazing. 

I'm giving you 3 of her songs on this MELLOW MONDAY. The first is a hip hop track that is absolutely INCREDIBLE.... I have had it on repeat since I downloaded it: It's a collaboration with Tinie Tempah and is titled "Wonderman". The Next song is yet ANOTHER Dub Step remix of Ellie's smash hit "LIGHTS". A GOOD TRACK...

This is always a great moment.... the home stretch..... the moment you realize you are definitely getting laid. She's in your bed, her clothes are coming off, the time has finally come..... or so you think. Out of left field comes her insecure bitch of a friend who is looking to cock block every opportunity she gets. The sad thing is: There is no amount of reason that can combat a psychotic female mid cock block. For this reason you can't let guy/girl ratios get out of hand when trying to seal the deal. You have to maneuver wisely to avoid the common hater. They are like a virus and if you don't contain the problem, this hater's negativity will spread like wildfire and infect the entire environment surrounding it. Through my experiences in life I have found the best way to deal with this virus like issue is to douse it with a bucket of cold water/ice and tell it to shut up..... 60% of the time it works.... every time.

I Can't Feel My Face.....

Some of the best memories of my life have occurred while I couldn't feel my face. Some people might think that's weird but it's not..... going out for a night on the town with the intent of NOT numbing your face would be weird. No matter what means you take to numb YOUR face, the outcome is usually the same: Loss of inhibitions and an exaggerated level of confidence. This mixture always makes for an interesting story the next morning, accompanied by a breakfast of greasy food to soak up the excess alcohol running through your veins. 

I'm sure plenty of you got numb this weekend in hopes of ending your night naked with the opposite sex.... And for that reason I'm hooking all of you up with an eclectic mix of songs from our favorite eclectic genre: Dub Step. I'm gonna show you how truly diverse this genre can be.

First I'll start you off with the 2 sides of RUSKO. The first song shows the mellow side of Rusko, "White Lies" highlights his unique style as of late. In contrast, the next song is the filthiest track Rusko has produced in months. He explained that when he went to create this song he went into the studio with the intent to create "the most disgusting bass noise ever".... "LICK THE LIZARD" doesn't disappoint. Next up is a Dub Step remix of the new Kanye West and Jay-Z song called "H.A.M" (this song is probably my favorite of the batch). After that we have a glimpse at the future of Pop Music with BRITNEY SPEARS new single "Hold it Against Me". This is off her new album and features a FILTHY dub step beat (it only goes hard for about 45 seconds but it's worth checking out). And then to end it I'm gonna go Classical..... yeah I said it.... THE REALITY OF FILMING A VIDEO PART

A lot of our friends in San Clemente, California have grown up to be professional athletes that have to film video parts, year round, for their respective sports. The reality of that situation is much different than you might imagine. Spots are hard to commute too and from. Tricks don't get landed. Bones break and shatter. Camera men fuck up. There is A LOT that goes into every 3 second clip you see in a video.

With that said, the above film session highlights that not EVERYTHING goes right in a professional film session. Ryan Sheckler, Shane Sheckler, and Greg Lutzka show that sometimes it's just a lazy sunday. Sometimes the spot doesn't fit your style of skating. Sometimes you just chill and watch your friend huck himself over and over. Either way the memories live on forever in your mind. And those good vibes that are created from these fun moments with great friends float on and inspire a generation of upcoming talent to take over when we one day fade out. xTDHx

1 DAY FILMING AT MT. HIGH

Life on the road is wild: Surfing couches, eating fast food for lunch and dinner (breakfast gets skipped for economic purposes), and skipping showers regularly. It all seems like somewhat of a draining process at the time, but all these elements end up making the memories so much more distinguished. And then its even better when you have something to show for all the hard work you put in. Here is the footage from my stop at Mt. High.
