ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: CHIDDY BANG



This is the first time we have made a post in the hip-hop genre, but here at THE DIRTY HYPE we are all about diversity as well as broadening our horizons. In my own defense, I would never post ANY kind of music that I didn't feel was completely relevant to the goal we are trying to accomplish with this company. That goal is to entertain you with the music of a counter cultural movement, which happens to be (for our generation) electronic music. We like to keep you updated with new material that is changing the forefront of the music industry.... And surely CHIDDY BANG fits right into that category.

CHIDDY BANG is an alternative hip hop duo made up of Chidera "Chiddy" Anamege and Noah "Xaphoon Jones" Beresin. This rapper/producer team from Philadelphia shot to international prominence in 2010 with the release of their major-label debut single "Opposite of Adults", a remix of MGMT's- KIDS. Then they put out an incredible mix tape called THE SWELLY EXPRESS, which captured everyones attention as well.

Xaphoon's production style derived from his wide range of musical taste and a genuine respect for the art form of sampling. His beats are AMAZING.... and i don't know how to explain what they sound like, but it's just not like any other rap or hip hop you have ever heard. He actually produces Dub Step tracks aside from his work with CHIDDY BANG (I posted one on xTDHx a couple weeks ago). His beats join the best of a lot of different genre's and I love it.

MELLOW MONDAY #4: METRONOMY & RAC

Some things are just AMAZING....


I am most definitely a "booty man". I mean don't get me wrong, I can always appreciate a nice set of fun bags. But when it comes down to it, my life goal is to find the best female ass i can and then sign a contractual agreement with her, forcing her to love me "for better or worse." After seeing this picture i think my search might be over.... if only I knew what her face looked like. I'm gonna go ahead and pretend her face matches her AMAZING ass. Dream Boat.

Mellow Monday #3


What the fuck is Monday's problem?!? If Monday were a person he would be such a pussy. Speaking of pussy, he wouldn't get any.... ever. All his friends would talk shit behind his back, and everyone would try to avoid his awkward ass. Long story short, Monday is a little bitch.

Even though everyone hates Monday's, I have faith in the first day of the week..... call me a dreamer. I think that if we embrace Monday's awkwardness we could actually transform him into "the most popular kid on campus." I know it's a long shot, but if we can inject some "cool" into Monday's veins I believe we could be onto something. Maybe we could create a second weekend for ourselves..... the possibilities are endless if Monday can clean it's act up.

SWIMMING NUDE


"Skinny Dipping" anyone? Without even trying we have turned nudity into a focal point at xTDHx.... this is very good. Nudity not only accompanies our favorite pass-time (sex), but it also symbolizes freedom and nature. These are are 3 very amazing things: Sex, Freedom, and Nature. I'm proud to say we are promoting all 3 to the fullest. With that said, we have a nice track list for you today that's sure to drop those panties. SMART: RUSKO


When ever someone comes up with a good idea the OBVIOUS response to that persons great idea is, "Smart." I've gotten so used to responding in this manner that I reply with the word "Smart" even when someone comes up with a bad idea. This has become the San Clemente way. "Smart" has quite possibly become the most overly used word in our quite little beach town, and it's all thanks to our good friend Kyle "Squaw" Kelley. Anyone who can single handedly start a "Smart" Revolution is obviously a genius.... or a complete idiot. DJ CONTEST: SWEET 16


Here at xTDHx we have our wheels spinning daily, trying to get creative and bring you new and exciting interactive entertainment. We are all about discovering new music as well as exposing up and coming talent. So we came up with a WORLDWIDE DJ CONTEST for our record spinning fans across the globe. MELLOW MONDAY #1: MATT & KIM (synth-and-drums dance punk)


Another new weekly addition to xTDHx program: MELLOW MONDAYS. After a long weekend of partying we offer up some relaxing tunes to help you out with the symptoms of "The Monday's"- A disease we all suffer from at the beginning of each week. This week I'd like to introduce you to MATT & KIM.


Matt and Kim started out approximately six years ago, they had no idea how to play their respective instruments—a fact that makes the band’s success story almost as unique as their distinctive brand of synth-and-drums dance punk. After being forced to play their first show by a friend months after picking up their instruments, keyboardist/vocalist Matt Johnson and drummer/vocalist Kim Schifino played their first show as Matthew and Kimberly in October of 2004. After slightly altering their name they spent the next year playing every chance they could get in their home base of Brooklyn. In 2006 the band released their self-titled debut—which was instantly embraced by critics and fans alike. For starters, it was recorded at Matt’s parents’ house in Vermont that Kim describes as “being near nothing and surrounded by three cow pastures.” Or as Matt says, “I had a friend from New York come up once and he was like ‘How did you even find out about college?’” In other words, it’s pretty desolate. 
Another band rising from obscurity in Brooklyn- I give you MATT & KIM :) Both of these songs are amazing. I really love their sound as well as their creativity. I like the idea of a two piece band with drums and synthesizer, its makes for a unique outcome.
